Hi I'm Andrea Drone
"Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new."
-Albert Einstein
I am a current doctoral student specializing in education. I am currently enrolled in the Transformative Learning in the Global Community Program through Webster University. I am also a self-published author specializing in children's literature. As a skilled and experienced professional I know how much hard work and careful thought it takes to succeed. My site is my way of documenting some of the important things I’ve learned, my accomplishments, and how I see myself developing in the future.
My research interest focuses on the teacher shortage and ways the school system can help improve this issue. While I believe one of the key issues is the salary, there are also several other issues that have also contributed to the teacher shortage issue as well.
Not only will I focus on the teacher shortage. But I will also focus on the issues that has led up to the teacher burnout and possible solutions to the problem. Teachers are very important in all of our lives, and a very vital part of society. Therefore, I believe this is an issue worth looking into and addressing. Follow along as I help get to the bottom of this!
The covid 19 pandemic put a strain on several jobs. Many teacher's have found it quite a struggle during and after the pandemic. I watched my daughter start Kindergarten virtually and it was particularly difficult for me because it was not the traditional way we had come accustomed to. I worried that she might struggle, or fall behind academically, or become socially deprived. Her teacher was great, and she did a very good job. But it was also a struggle for her teacher to virtually be in charge of a group of kindergartners. I will be focusing primarily on ways to improve the teacher shortage.
My Master's degree is in Education and Innovation. I also hold my Bachelor's in Business Administration. In the future I plan to continue my career at a university to help educate future teacher's on ways to overcome some of theses obstacles, or a business course that focuses on finances, or money management.
In my spare time I love spending time with my family. I love traveling and going new places. I also love to write, and I plan to write a few more children's books. The purpose of my children' s literature is to help encourage and inspire children. I believe that the most important part of learning starts at an early age.
I also plan to do some adult literature as well in the future, stay tuned for more to come!
